Kakinada, Oct 26 (UNI)'Telangana' sentiment was growing strong among the people in the region, Home Minister K Jana Reddy said today.
Talking to newspersons here after inaugurating the Marine Police Station new buildings on the beach road, he said he would express his views in appropriate forum and at the right time. The party president and United Progressive Alliance(UPA) Chairman Sonia Gandhi was briefed about the matter and the situation was being reviewed daily, he added.
Mr Reddy said the State Government led by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is doing a commendable job and it is the duty of the police to ensure maintenance of law and order. An increase in police strength to the growing requirements was the need of the hour, he added.
The minister said additional police training schools would be opened in Rajahmundry and Anantapur shortly. The Government would upgrade Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Guntur and Waranagal as police commissionerates in a phased manner, he added.
