Essential Commodities prices soar high in Pakistan
Jaisalmer, Oct 26 (UNI) Soaring prices of essential commodities like wheat flour and edible oil aggravated the miseries of the people even in Pakistan as plunging foreign exchange reserves and high inflation posed economic crisis before the neighbouring country.
According to reliable sources from accross the border, wheat flour is being sold at Rs 45 per kg, edible oil Rs 100 per litre, tea leaves Rs 400 per kg and gold at Rs 24,000 per 10 gm.
Hoarders and black marketeers were also active and the people forced to buy essential commodities through them.
The government has provided quota of wheat to flour mills on subsidised rate for maintaining supply of the flour in open market but it was being sold by mill owners through black marketeers.
The security agencies were taking all possible measures to prevent smuggling of wheat or flour from India.
