All AP case accused arrested

Adilabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Police arrested all the nine accused in the Vottoli incident where six members of a Muslim family were burnt alive on October 12 following the communal clashes in sensitive Bhainsa town of this district during an immersion procession on October 10.

Talking to mediapersons here, District Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said with the arrest of three people yesterday, all the nine accused, residents of Vottoli village, were remanded for their role in the conspiracy and execution of the crime.

Mr Kumar said the accused had conspired to kill the 55-year-old tailor from their village as an act of revenge after one of them saw a person being murdered in Bhainsa's communal violence.

He said the curfew was relaxed from 0600 hrs to 2100 hrs to enable people to purchase essential commodities. The situation was under control and no fresh violence was reported during the relaxation period, he added The authorities would lift the curfew totally in few days, depending on the situation, he said.

Still the Units of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and local police continued to be deployed in strength in the narrow lanes and bylanes to maintain peace in the riot-torn town.

As many as 30 cases were booked under different sections of law and 249 people, identified as accused had been taken into custody so far in connection with the communal violence in the town.

He said investigation was going on in the Bhainsa communal clashes to ascertain whether the three people, killed in the clashes were involved in the communal clashes or innocent people.

It may be recalled that three people were killed and 15 others injured when violence broke out in the town during the immersion ceremony.
