Chennai, Oct 25 (UNI) Yesterday's well marked Low Pressure area over the West Central Bay has concentrated into a depression and lay centred about 370 km East Southeast of Visakhapatnam.
Weather office sources told UNI here today that the system was likely to intensify further and move in a northerly direction initially.
Under its influence rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala, Lakshadweep, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai city would have generally cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
Meanwhile, Chennai city, which was battered by rain yesterday, limped back to normalcy as people woke up to bright sunshine.
But still several areas remained waterlogged and civic officials were taking steps to pump out the stagnated water. Storm water drains were also being cleaned to facilitiate free flow of water.
