Lahiri, six other Indians make cut at Macau Open

Macau, China, Oct 25 (UNI) Anirban Lahiri fired an awesome six-under 65 to move to the joint second place while six other Indians made the cut at the Asian Tour's Macau Open Golf here today.

Gaganjeet Bhullar was the next best-placed Indian, who shot one under 70 and was tied 39th with his two round total at three-under 139.

Seasoned Gaurav Ghei (69) and Rahil Gangjee (73) shared the 46th position at two-under overall.

Digvijay Singh (68) was at tied 58th followed by Himmat Rai (70) and Arjun Singh (69), who were even-par after two rounds.

Chiragh Kumar (70), Gurbaz Mann (74), Amandeep Johl (72) and Firoz Ali (78), however, failed to make the cut.

Lahiri shot six birdies, and an eagle but also had two bogeys which left his total at nine-under 133.

The young Indian was still five strokes off the pace of leader David Gleeson of Australia, who shot his second successive 64.

About his round, the 21-year-old Bangalore-based golfer said, ''I putted well for a change. I finished off solid with a birdie followed by an eagle at the 18th hole. I used a driver and a two iron on the last hole. I was 240 yards from the pin before the ball landed 12 feet away for an eagle.'' UNI XC HSB PY KP1713
