Karkala, (Udupi district) Oct 25 (UNI) The state government which had released Rs one crore for +Koti Chennayya Theme Park+ project would release the fund whenever required on installment, Home Minister V S Acharya said today.
Speaking after laying the foundation for the project he said that the theme park would come up on a spacious 97 acres of land and Rs one crore had already been made available with the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi to take up the first phase of the project.
The Koti-Chennayya Theme Park would have a decorated 'Tulunadu-style' front door, stone carved sculptures of historic war hero characters of Tulunadu who were worshipped by the people of undivided Daxina Kannada.
It would also have 'Garody' model (temple of Koti Chennayya) with surrounding compound wall on which 34 oil paintings would be displayed depicting the history and life beginning from birth till death of hero brothers, he said.
The Minister said that the project would be completed by March 2009.
The theme park would be designed and developed as tourism spot so that it could attract tourists from both domestic and foreign nations who could come and spend a full day here.
The Theme Park would also have research centre, a library containing the books on Koti Chennayya and other ancient folk life styles of all communities of Tulunadu, creation of rural atmosphere in the park and a medical plant garden besides the plan for setting up of a Koti Chennayya folk University. The Theme Park was also aimed at protecting and preserving the great contributions made by around 230 Garodies (places of worship Koti Chennayya) existed in Daxina Kannada, Udupi, Kasaragod, Mumbai and Madikeri.
A committee under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Udupi had already been set up to speed up the project.
