JKCA will hire four cricketers from outside: Farooq Abdullah

Jammu, Oct 25 (UNI) In a bid to raise the standard of cricket and to bring the State Ranji team in the nation-wide ranking, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Farooq Abdullah today said the association will ''hire'' four players from outside, who will represent the state in the coming Ranji season.

''The Jammu and Kashmir team for Ranji Trophy is yet to be finalised and it will be announced soon. The association is also going to adopt reputed and experienced players from outside the state to bring the state team into the ranking,'' Abdullah told UNI at the sidelines of a function.

''Selectors have submitted me the list of probable players and the Selection Committee will finalise the State team for Ranji Trophy season soon,'' Abdullah affirmed.

However, shedding off the allegations of ''unfair selection'' of probable from Jammu region for the Trophy, Abdullah further said, ''The first team to be announced soon, will play first two matches while the teams for rest of the matches, will be declared later.'' Abdullah added that there is no as such controversy has erupted over selection of probables as the association have experienced and talented veteran cricketers, who are good enough in taking decisions.
