Washington, October 25 : Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother have been found shot dead on at their Chicago residence and the police are on the look out for the singer's missing nephew.
The officials, who have issued an Amber Alert for Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, are allegedly suspecting William Balfour as the man behind the double murder.
Balfour is believed to have taken Julian King from the Hudson's residence and later fled in a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban.
"We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson," Fox News quoted Hudson's rep, Lisa Kasteler, as saying in a statement.
"No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time," she added.
According to the Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Monique Bond, the double murder stems from domestic abuse.
Hudson, who bagged the runner-up title on 'American Idol' and later won an Oscar for her supporting performance in 'Dreamgirls', is reportedly rushing to Chicago following the terrifying news.
