Visakhapatnam, Oct 25 (UNI) A depression, which formed over West Central Bay of Andhra Coast this evening and lay centred about 370 KM East South East of Visakhapatnam, is likely to intensify further and move in the north-easterly direction.
A Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) spokesman said, under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at many places with isolated heavy rains over coastal Andhra Pradesh, during the next 48 hours.
Squally winds with speeds reaching 45 to 55 KMPH are likely over north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
The strong surface winds from Westerly direction with speeds reacing 45 to 50 KMPH are likely along and off the south coastal Andhra Pradesh, during the same period.
The state of sea would be rought to very rough.
Fishermen were advised not not to venture into the sea.
The local cautionary signal number three was hoisted at Kalingapatnam, Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam and Kakinada ports.
The distant cautionary signal number one was also hoisted in south Andhra Pradesh ports, he added.
