Deewan, Modi and Bhati return into Congress fold
Jaipur, Oct 25 (UNI) Former Minister and Sirvi community spiritual leader Madho Singh Deewan, sitting BJP MLA Vishnu Modi and former Congress legislator Bhimraj Bhati have returned into the Congress fold today.
A party Spokesman said the party state unit has inducted them into the party on the directives from AICC General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
Mr Deewan was the Health Minister in the previous Ashok Gehlot government in the state but was later forced to part his ways from following differences with Mr Gehlot over the allotment of tickets in 2003 Assembly polls. His return into Congress fold alongwith his staunch follower Mr Bhati, takes significance as Mr Deewan enjoys considerable influence in Pali Marwar and adjoining regions.
Mr Modi was also with the Congress for very long and had held Ajmer Lok Sabha seat and Pushkar Assembly seat, once on Congress ticket.
However, later he had joined the BJP to win Masuda Assembly seat in Ajmer district on the saffron party's ticket, in the last Assembly elections.
