Jaipur, Oct 25 (UNI) The Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) has fielded its candidates on 34 of the 200 Assembly seats for the December 4 polls in Rajasthan.

The party's lone sitting MLA Amara Ram Dhodh whose Dhodh assembly constituency has been reserved for Scheduled Caste(SC) in the new delimitation, has been shifted to Dataramgarh in Sikar district while former party legislator Hetram Beniwal has been allotted ticket from Sardulshahr, Party spokesman said.

Prema Ram would contest the Dhodh(SC) seat against Congress state working president Parasram Mordiya, he said.

This is for the first time that the party had fielded more than 30 candidates on its own. However, it could not field any woman.

The party might field candidates on one or two more seats, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the CPI, has already announced its candidates on 15 seats and has expressed willingness to contest 30 to 35 seats on its own.

The party was also open to contest election in alliance or understanding with CPI(M) and other like minded secular parties to prevent division in anti-BJP and anti-Congress votes.
