Shimla, Oct 25 (UNI) Himchal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal directed the Lahaul and Spiti district administration to achieve the targets fixed for the district well before the onset of the winter and propery utilize the development funds.
Addressing the meeting of district officers of all the departments in Lahaul and Spiti district at Keylong last evening he said, "Employees serving in tribal areas have to work more dedicatedly and efficiently to achieve the targets in minimum possible time since the working season in such areas is quite limited".
"There is no shortage of developmental funds for the tribal areas since separate tribal sub-plan is under implementation in all such areas. Every department need to ensure that the budgetary provisions made under different heads are utilized well within the allotted time frame," he added.
"The construction cost in the tribal areas is much higher hence adequate funds have been made and all departments need to ensure the utilisation of all such funds as per the prescribed norms with transparency in the procedure," he said.
The Chief Minister gave clarion call to the employees to make people aware of various welfare, poverty alleviation, central sponsored and other schemes and educate them about the same so that wider coverage was ensured for all such programmes.
