BJP to contest coming Lok Sabha election alone
Kolkata, Oct 25 (UNI) West Bengal BJP vice-president Sabyasachi Bagchi today announced that the party would contest the coming Lok Sabha election alone in the state.
''We are expecting a surprise result in the coming Parliamentary election and the party has already identified the candidates for 24, including two in Kolkata, out of 42-seats. The rest will be decided in the party's next election committee meeting, to be held here on October 31,'' Mr Bagchi told newspersons here.
He said the BJP's state leaders would fan out to every district and focus on the ''failures'' of the CPI(M)-led Left Front government in the state.
He
said,
''After
Trinamool
Congress
chief
Mamata
Banerjee
had
announced
to
fight
the
election
alone,
we
have
also
decided
to
contest
on
our
own.
But
we
are
ready
if
Ms
Banerjee
wants
to
discuss
about
any
alliance
with
us.''
