Mandi, Oct 25 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Health and Ayurveda Minister Rajeev Bindal today said that efforts were afoot to make Himachal a herbal state of the country.
The Minister, who inspected the Government Ayurvedic Pharmacy at Jogindernagar and took stock of the medicines being manufactured in it, directed the scientists to develop tissue culture lab to such an extent that all the rare species of herbals could be made available for production in different suitable soil textures in the state.
He said that training camps for herbal and medicinal plant growers would be organised at regular intervals by the government.
Dr Bindal, who also inspected the herbal garden at Jogidernagar, directed the officers working in the pharmacy that all the Ayurvedic medicines being used in Ayurvedic health institutions in the state should be manufactured in the government-run pharmacies and called upon them to utilise all the available resources for the purpose.
