Andaman all set for UPA's next Bharat Nirman PIC
Diglipur, North Andaman, Oct 25 (UNI) The Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign (PIC) being organised by the Press Information Bureau will commence in Diglipur, a remote Island of Andaman and Nicobar Chain.
Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar islands, Mr Bhopinder Singh is schedule to inaugurate the PIC as the chief guest at a function to be held on November 5 at the Vivekanada Stadium of the Diglipur island, the main venue of the five-day campaign.
''The Public Information Campaign, the fourth such event, is being organised especially in Diglipur to disseminate information to the populace about the flagship programme of the Union government,'' senior Media and Communications Officer ON Jaiswal, who is also the Nodal Officer, BNPIC, told UNI today.
The objective of the campaign is also to showcase the achievements made by various departments and other agencies with regard to the implementation of the flagship programme of the government as well as generate awareness about welfare schemes to the rural masses.
Meanwhile, preparations for the Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign at the Vivekananda Stadium in Diglipur is being carried out in full swing.
More than 50 departments, banks, insurance companies, postal services, A &N Command, Coast Guard, NGOs, SHGs, Mahila Mandals and PRIs will participate in the campaign by putting up their stalls in the mega rural event.
