Sonia reconstitutes Mahila Congress

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today reconstituted the All India Mahila Congress.

The 47-member unit will function under the leadership of Ms Prabha Thakur, who took over as president earlier this year.

Six vice-presidents, eight general secretaries, ten secretaries and nine joint secretaries along with others, will form part of the team.

While Krishna Gehlawat, Shobhna Shah, Kamalakshi Sarma, Sudha Rai, Parminder Kaur and Saria Khan have been named Vice-Presidents, the eight general secretaries are Vibha Patel, Gurkanwal Kaur, Rashmi Bhardwaj, Gayathri Devi, Nusrat Rizvi, Uma Mishra, Manorama D Sharma and Nalini S Chandele.

Ms Vipula Sharada will be the treasurer and Ms Tanu Singh, the Joint treasurer.

The ten secretaries are Shabana Khandelwal, Ms R Manjula Naidu, Naznin Faruque, Sushma Kapoor Surendran, Ms Krishna Dasgupta, Ms Rukmani P Sawakar, Shahida Kamal, Ajayti Pradhan, Vinita Saboo and Asha Dixit.

Damayanti Bakolia, Sushma Yadav, Sunanda Ben Gamid, Anju Beniwala, Vidya Bedu, Nirmala Vats, Rani Agarwal, Ambati Vijaya Kumari and Veena Dhkolia have been appointed joint secretaries.

Asifa M Khan and Anita Vaishnav will be part of the media cell and Husna Subhani, Neeta Mishra Ritu Tyagi of the NGO cell.

Shikha Kapoor will be the convenor of the Women Helpline Cell, with Namita Kothari and Suman Dahiya as co-convenor. Both Varyam Kaur and Parinita Azad will be convenors of the Mahila Kisan cell.

Harvinder Kaur will be convenor of the legal cell and Banarsi Meghwal its co-convenor.
