Sisters stage abduction drama, land in jail with boyfriends
Coimbatore, Oct 24 (UNI) The City Police arrested two sisters and their boyfriends after an abduction drama, which turned out to be a hoax.
Police said Jola and Pooja, residents of Malumachampatti on the outskirts of the city, were college students. They had a difference of opinion with their father over a petty issue.
Enraged, the girls conceived a plot to enact a blackmail drama with the help of their boyfriends Karthick of Malumachampatti and Karthick of Madurai.
As planned, the boys 'abducted' Jola and Pooja a couple of days back. They later called the girl's father Ravi and demanded Rs one crore for releasing his daughters.
A shocked Ravi agreed to pay Rs 15 lakh and also approached the Pothanur Police Station.
Police formed a special team which traced them through the mobile number they used to speak with the girl's father.
All the four were apprehended at a house near Sulur, about 15 km from here.
During questioning, the girls spilled the beans about the blackmail drama.
The four were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody yesterday.
