Gangtok, Oct 24 (UNI) As curtains are set to come down tomorrow for the 30th All India Governor's Gold Cup, the organisers Sikkim Football Association (SFA) and its online media partner Goal.com have already starting brainstorming for the next year edition.
'' We will market the Governor's Gold Cup at international and national level and extend help to bring more foreign teams for this tournament, '' said Kapil Chettri, Business Development Manager (India) of Goal.com, at a press meet today here.
'' We are receiving lot of positive comments from the people outside Sikkim. We are looking forward to work at the grassroots of Sikkim football, '' said Mr Chettri.
Goal.com is the largest website on football events and news and available in 14 languages in 17 editions. The website is giving international coverage to the Governor's Gold Cup, a premier tournament in the Northeast, for the first time.
'' Sikkim Football Association is hopeful that Goal.com will act as a catalyst between us and foreign teams, '' said SFA spokesperson Shyam Pradhan, adding the SFA will be inviting more foreign teams to add more attraction to the prestigious tournament.
Two foreign clubs, Nepal Three Star and DKKKS Bangladesh, had featured in this 30th edition of Governor's Gold Cup.
The Nepal side had reached finals where it will play against Army XI tomorrow at Paljor Stadium here.
Governor Balmiki Prasad Singh will be present during the final as the chief guest.
