Sankararaman murdered case posted Nov 21
Puducherry, Oct 24 (UNI) Puducherry Principal District and Sessions Judge D Krishnaraja today posted the Sankararaman murder case, in which the Kanchi Acharyaas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijyendra Saraswathi are the prime accused, to November 21 for further hearing.
The judge today heard the arguments of both the prosecution and defence counsels pertaining to recasting of the charges framed against all the 24 accused earlier.
This was necessitated as, the court felt that separate charges had to be framed against each of the accused, instead of implicating all of them under same charges.
The defence counsel - Lakshmana Reddy, Varadarajan and Prakash- pointed out that the recasting was necessery in view of ''infirmities'' in charges framed earlier by the court. After hearing the opinion of the Special Public Prosecutor Mr N Devadass, the judge agreed to recast the chrges and posted the case for November 21.
He also dirtected that all the accused, including the two Seers and one of the accused Dilpandiyan, who was constantly absent all along in the hearings, should be present in the court on November 21.
Of the 24 accused 13, including the prime accused were absent.
