Manipur: RPF, Maoist insurgents join hands
Imphal, Oct 24: The proscribed CPI (Maoist) and Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) have come together, a statement issued here today said.
The joint statement by a political bureau member of the Maoist outfit, Alok and secretary general of RPF, S Gunen announced this in a two-day meeting between the CPI (Maoist) and RPF at the Council Head Quarters of the RPF on October 21 and 22.
''In the meeting, both sides unanimously condemned the government and agreed to consolidate the mutual understanding and friendship and to stand hand-in-hand to achieve the political goals of the respective organisations,'' the statement said.
The CPI (Maoist) condemned the annexation of Manipur by the Dominion of India. The so-called Merger Agreement of Manipur with the Dominion of India was indeed illegal and unconstitutional, the statement added.
