Bangalore, Oct 24(UNI) Former Indian Air Force officer was arrested by the police on the charges of murdering his wife and two teen aged children in the city last week.
The 40-year-old Dharam Singh Yadav, hailing from Haryana and had settled in the City, committed the heinous crime to marry another girl, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidiri told reporters here today.
He said that on getting suspicion a close watch was maintained on the movements of Dharam Singh Yadav and found that he had hatched the plan to finish off his daughter Keerthi (14), son Aditya Subash (11) and Anu Yadav (32) married 17 years ago.
The triple murder reported from Vidyaranyapuram on October 19, had sent shockwave in the city "This man served in IAF for 20 years and retired as Sergeant. He had a own house in Vidyaranyapuram extension in the city and settled there after the retirement. After committing the crime, Yadav complained to the police that somebody have murdered for gains," he said.
However police suspected Yadav as there were no other leads.
Their suspicion was based on the person not expressing any grief or worthwhile agony on the day of the murder.
"The post mortem report said the killing had taken place during the early hours of the fateful day while the accused had told the police that it took place after 0700 hrs when he had gone to the railway station to book a ticket to Haryana," Mr Bidiri said "Then we questioned him once he finished the last rites and he confessed to have committed the crime." He had done the heinous crime after he found a city based teacher of a well to do parents. He had come to know her through a marriage counseling portal and hatched the brutal plan.
He had told the teacher that he was unmarried, Mr Bidiri added.
