Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) national vice-president Milind Marathe today said reports published in a section of the press was maligning the image of ABVP by allgedly involving its name with the recent Malegaon blast.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Marathe urged the media not to flash any news in enthusiasm and only publish it after confirming and verifying the facts of any news. He appealed to the media to allow the ATS (Anti-Terrorist quad) work their way and urged them not to conduct the trial by themselves.
He said they had written a letter to ATS officials seeking their appointment, to discuss with them about the media reports, which had quoted ATS sources.
After Diwali, ABVP will be going to the common man and organise protests against certain political parties, which were allegedly involved in maligning the image of ABVP, he added.
Mr Marathe further said in August this year some newspaper had also published a news saying that ABVP is allegedly funding Naxalite movement in Mumbai, which the police later stated to be baseless.
