Polytechnic Kandhaghat won all the titles

Kangra, Oct 24 (UNI) Government Polytechnic for women, Khandhagaht bagged the finals of all three events of Badminton, Table Tennis and Volleyball today defeating host Kangra, Hamirpur and Ambota Polytechnics in the two-day XIV inter Polytechnic Sports Meet for women organised in the local polytechnic college here.

In Table Tennis, Govt Polytechnic Khandaghat won the final defeating host Kangra by 3:1 in four sets Scoring 9:11-6:11, 4:11-5:11, 6:11-8:11 and 0:11-2:11.

In Badminton, Khandhaghat girls defeated Polytechnic Hamirpur girls in the finals and won the trophy. In Singles, Ranjni defeated Arti, Sheetal defeated Arti and in doubles Ranjni and Anjna defeated Minakshi and Arti.

The Volley Ball final was won by Khandhaghat Polytechnic defeating Polytechnic Hamiprur by 3:0 with scores 25:18, 25:19 and 25: 22.

The Sports meet was declared open by the Chairman Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Dr C L Gupta yesterday and was decalred closed by the Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Sarween Choudary this afternoon.

In the first semifinal of Volleyball, Polytechnic Ambota defeated Polytechnic Kangra by 25:10 and 25:13 and Chandresh Kumari of Ambota was the best smasher of the team .

In second Semi final of Volleyball Kandhagahat defeated Hamirpur by 25:12 and 25:7. Pawana Kumari of Kandhaghat was the best scorer of her team.

The Social Justice and Empower Minister also launched the website of the college www.gpkangra.com today for the Polytechnic College which has acquired status of ISO 9001-2000.
