Nagaland Home Minister apologises to media
Kohima, Oct 24: Following resentment of the media fraternity of Nagaland over the remark of state Home Minister Imkong L Imchen and the ultimatum served by the Dimapur Press Club, Mr Imchen today tendered his unconditional apology to the media.
In an advertisement published in local dailies, the Home Minister said, ''I admit that I stated that the practice of yellow journalism should be avoided, during a discussion with the Administration, police officers, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and mediapersons at Dimapur on October 21 for which my esteemed media friends got hurt and hence, I hereby tender my unqualified apology to my media friends and also to the Fourth Estate.
''I hope that the Press fraternity will kindly bear with me for having hurt their image and dignity by my careless utterances,'' he said.
