Low pressure area formed over west-central Bay
Visakhapatnam, Oct 24 (UNI) A low pressure area, which has formed over West-Central Bay of coastal Andhra Pradesh, is likely to concentrate into depression.
According to a bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre here today, under the influence of the low pressure area, rainfall or thundershowers were likely at many places with isolated heavy rains over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
Strong surface winds from north-east direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph were likely along and off north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Strong surface winds from north-west direction with speed reaching 45 to 50 kmph were also likely along and off south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours, the bulletin said.
The chief amount of rainfall recorded in cm during the last 24 hours were: Kavakli nine, Chintapalli and Tiruvuru four each, Prathipadu and Udayagiri three each, Kandukur, Tuni and Waltiar two each, the bulletin added.
