Karnal, Oct 24 (UNI) The 'Shobha Yatra,' being taken out from Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab to Nanded Sahib in Maharashtra on the occasion of tercentenary celebrations of Gurata Gaddi Diwas of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, was received by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Karnal today.
After paying his obeisance to Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Mr Hooda said Sri Guru Granth Sahib was the first granth of the world which enjoys the status of 'Guru'.
The Shobha Yatra is being taken to spread the message of fraternity among the different sections of the society.
Earlier, welcoming the Chief Minister, Sant Baba Maan Singh said Mr Hooda was not a leader of a single community. ''He is the leader of 36 biradaris and the interests of all communities are safe in his hands.'' Sant Baba Maan Singh honoured the Chief Minister by presenting him a Siropa and a memento. Mr Naveen Jindal, MP, Agriculture Minister Harmohinder Singh Chatha, Minister of State for Cooperation Meena Mandal and MLAs Vinod Sharma and Sumita Singh were also given Siropas.
