Bureaucrats transferred in poll-bound MP
Bhopal, Oct 24 (UNI) A day after a Madhya Pradesh assembly poll preparations review meeting in the presence of Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy here, the state government transferred three district collectors, an inspector-general (IG) of police and two superintendents today.
Official sources said that the Jabalpur-based Madhya Pradesh Eastern Region Power Distribution Company's Controller (Finance) M K Agrawal was made Collector, Morena while Jabalpur's Municipal Commissioner Sukhveer Singh became Collector, Satna and Deputy Secretary (Finance) Amit Rathore was shifted as Collector, Khargone.
Ujjain's IG M P Dwivedi was replaced by Police Housing Board Managing Director Pawan Jain, Indore's SP R K Chaudhry by Mr Sanjeev Sharma and Sagar's SP Hari Singh Yadav by Mr Yogesh Chaudhry.
It is believed that Mr R K Gupta, Mr Vijay Anand Kureel and Dr E Ramesh Kumar -- who were collectors at Morena, Satna and Khargone respectively -- and the others were transferred following election-linked complaints.
Cases of irregularities in the voters' list surfaced in Morena district.
