BPO girl raped and murdered in Tirupati
Tirupati, Oct 24: Tirupati was in for a shock on Thursday, Oct 23 morning with four brutal murders, including the rape and murder of a call centre employee.
The body of a 21-year-old girl who worked with the ICICI call centre was found in the bushes in Ramachandra Nagar of Kapilateertham area early Thursday. The police swung into action and took two people into custody for the call centre employee"s rape-murder after her father, Nageshwara Rao, a postman, filed a complaint. Apart from questioning the call centre staffers, the police are interrogating the employees of a private nursing home where the girl worked before.
''The girl could have been picked up on Wednesday night when she was returning from work, raped and later murdered,"" a police officer said.
Sniffer dogs traced two pairs of chappals in an under-construction apartment, a few blocks away from the girl"s house. Sources said since the chappals belonged to watchman of the apartment, Desappa (45), and his brother Subbaiah (32), who works on a contract basis at the Tirumala temple.
