Kolkata, Oct 24 (UNI) An exciting contest is set to unfold as arch-rivals Mohun Bagan and East Bengal gear up to take on each other in the fifth round of the Indian league here tomorrow.

Three-time champions Mohun Bagan struggling with two points from four matches are now banking on new recruit Marcos Perriera, a Brazilian, to script a first win in this edition.

After months of tug of war with JCT, Mohun Bagan this week got the Brazilian to sign for the club for an undisclosed sum, a practice is followed for decades in India.

Bagan are expected to field all three foreigners- seasoned striker Jose Ramirez Barreto, medio Marcos and central defender Peter Odafe - against the traditional rivals at Yubabhrati Krirangan.

So far Odafe and Barreto featured in the play and coach Karim Bencherifa was desperate to have another foreigner to fill the quota.

To spearhead the attack for green and maroon, ace striker Baichung Bhutia will join Barreto as he was now fully fit after nursing ankle injury as the coach was under pressure since club's defeat in first two matches.

Bagan lost to debutant Mumbai FC 1-2 and 0-2 to Sporting Clube de Goa and drew the next two matches against Air India and Mohammedan Sporting.

Buoyed in Saturday's 2-0 win over Vasco after two sussessive defeats at Mumbai FC (0-1) and Air India (0-2), coach Stanley Rozario was confident enough in the ability of the Nigerians both in defence and upfront.

Yusif Yukubu scored three goals in East Bengal's total five from four mathces and proved how important he was for the former champion, whose total collection stood at six points in the 12-team country-wide soccer championship.

Suley Musha, another African, was equally important defender for East Bengal to erect wall in the defence.

Stanley Rozario said his upfront, combined with India international Sunil Chettri and Yusif Yukubu, was agile enough to score against Bagan.

Incidentally, Mohun Bagan with two points from four outings remained unbeaten by the rivals in last seven matches at YBK.

In the domestic league, Bagan won a match and drew another versus its arch rival this season.
