AIR-Doordarshan plan spl programmes on Guruta Gaddi day

Jalandhar, Oct 24 (UNI) All India Radio and Doordarshan have made special offerings to celebrate the tricentenary of Guruta Gaddi Diwas and would broadcast or telecast special programmes from today to October 30 to hail the occasion.

While the All India Radio would organise Sarab Hind Trilingual Kavi Darbar 'Mahima Sri Guru Granth Sahib Di' in which Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu poets would participate at Doordarshan Kendra tomorrow from 2100 hrs, the Doordarshan has produced a special serial ''Guru Maneyo Granth'' to commemmorate the occasion.

Eminent poets like Rajish Reddy, Laxmi Shankar Vajpayee, Shankuntala Srivastava, Wahid Ali Wahid, MF Farooqi, Sardar Panchi Prof Waseem Bareillvi Dr Som Thakur would participate in the Kavi Darbar, to be shown live on Doordarshan and AIR centres here, besides, two other AIR centres in Bhatinda and Patiala.

Seven compact discs on 'Guru Maneo Granth' would be launched at New Delhi today with selected Shabads in context with the Guruta Gaddi, an official release said adding that it was a research based musical programme with soul-stirring devotional appeal.

On October 26, Ragas in Sri Guru Granth Sahib would be broadcast in the National programme of music while in the National Programme of Talks, Dr Hazari Prasad Dwivedi's essay ''Guru Nanak Dev Ka Manavtawad'' would be broadcast on October 27.

'Guru Maneo Granth - An Eternal Guru', would also be broadcast on Ocotber 29 at National programme of English Talks.

The concluding function of the tricentenary of the Guruta Gaddi would be broadcast live from Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazoor Sahib, Nanded on October 30.
