Shimla, Oct 24 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed 82 doctors, including 41 lady doctors, to provide better health services to the people of the state, Health Minister Dr Rajiv Bindal said.
The Minister said that these doctors were being posted in all the districts of the state. Out of the 82 newly appointed doctors, six in Lahaul and Spiti, 10 in Kinnaur, four in Chamba, 11 in Sirmaur, nine in Shimla, 13 in Kangra, eight in Bilaspur, six in Solan, three in Hamirpur, one each in Kullu and Una and 10 doctors in Mandi district would render their services in different health institutions.
Dr Bindal said that during the first phase of recruitment 129 doctors were posted in remote and tribal areas of the state and added that more than 200 MBBS doctorswere recruited to ensure better medical care to the people at their doorsteps.
He further said that special efforts were afoot to recruit staff nurses, and in the process, 197 staff nurses had already been recruited while appointments of 31 were in the pipeline, besides, 550 paramedical staff were likely to be recruited soon.
He said that stagnation in various cadres in the department would be removed to open new promotion channels.
