New Delhi, Oct 23 (UNI) Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports M S Gill today expressed confidence that Indian sportspersons would continue their good show in the 2012 London Olympics as well.
"There is every possibility of India picking up two to three medals in London Olympics as well. All sports federations have been asked to zero in on the probables and commence training well in advance of the London Olympics," Mr Gill told the Rajya Sabha during Question Hour.
Mr Gill said there was need to encourage sports which are inexpensive, which could be played by everyone and in every ground and any season which included those like football, volleyball and athletics.
"I am also in support of encouraging India's traditional sports as they are part of India's traditional culture," Mr Gill said.
