Revenue Inspector, Village Servant dismissed
Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) A Mandal Revenue Inspector and Village Servant in the office of the Mandal Revenue Officer in Guntur district was dismissed from service following their conviction in a bribery case by Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Vijayawada.
The accused Revenue Inspector T Chandrasekhar Rao and Village Servant P Malyadri were trapped by the ACB officials on August 27, 2004, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,100 from the complainant for doing an official favour, a release here today said.
In another case, Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, sentenced former Junior Assistant in the office of Hayathnagar Mandal Revenue Officer L Leelavathi to one-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000, in default, to undergo three months simple imprisonment each for offences under Sections seven and 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The sentences would run concurrently.
She was trapped by the ACB officials on April one, 2003, while accepting Rs 1,000 as bribe from the complainant for showing an official favour.
