Margao, Oct 23 (UNI) A close contest is on the cards when formidable newly promoted Mumbai Football Club cross swords against Sporting Club De Goa in the ONGC I League Championship match to be played here at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, tomorrow.

Both the teams seem to be equally balanced in attack, midfield and defence and tied with nine points each, though Mumbai has played one match less then sporting club.

Mumbai, who performed creditably well against more experienced and strong teams Kolkata's Mohan Bagan, East Bengal and Mahindra United in the last three outings, is the only unbeaten team in the league so far.

Mumbai Footall Team Manager Henry Menezes expressed happiness over his team's performance and said the team is shaping up well. If we go with the right and positive attitude then we will definitely make it and have a good chance to maintain a winning spree.

Sporting will be playing infront of the home crowd, which will be an advatage for them but we will try our best to maintained our unbeaten run intact, Menezes added.

On the other end, table toppers Sporting Club De Goa is hoping to bounce back from the stunning 0-3 drubbling they suffered against Local Churchill Brothers. Sporting seemed to have analysed their defeat, which was mostly because of failure of midfield and defence.

Sporting coach Vishwas Gaonkar was confidence that his boys will bounce back tomorrow. ''My boys have forgotten the earlier deafeat at the hands of churchill brothers and are raring to go,'' Gaonkar said.

The defender Luciano Sobrosa will be out tomorrow as he was booked with two yellow cards, the coach added.

The home team would have to make special vigilance arrangment for Mumbai's ace Kulu Thungan, Abel Hammoud and Felix Abuje, all of whom can spell doom for Sporting.

Sporting will heavily depend on their Nigerian Junior Eligah, Nathaniol Amos and Joychandra Singh infront and Joseph Pereira, Wilton Gomes and Micky Fernandes in the middle. If both combine well tomorrow it will not be a difficult task for home team to deliver the goods.
