CCI protest against long power cuts in Jammu

Jammu, Oct 23: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu, has expressed strong resentment against the long power curtailments imposed by the power development department in Jammu region.

At the meeting of the CCI last evening, the members expressed strong resentment against the decision of the PDD authorities for enforcing long power cuts in Jammu and other areas in the region.

People are facing lot of hardships and feeling deceived as the department and the government had repeatedly asserted that after the installation of new transformer at Gladini, there will be no curtailment and the consumers will get relief, the members said.

Unfortunately, the PDD authorities have again started making excuses for enforcing 13-hour long curtailment which is hitting every section of society, the members noted.

This ''provocative act'' of PDD, they said, will force people to come on the roads.

Asserting that the industry is worst hit by this long power cut schedule, the cci members urged the state government to look into the matter and review its decision.
