Mumbai, Oct 23 (UNI) Prices of groundnutseed and its oil today became costlier on sustained demand even as RBD palm oil was down on lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Commodity Exchange said.

In oilseeds (per quintal), groundnut rose by Rs 50 per quintal on speculative demand.

Javas 60/70 and 70/80 declined by Rs 25 per quintal each on lower buying support by bulk consumers.

Nigerseed and castorseed Disa also slid by Rs 50 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively, traders said.

In oils (per ten kg), groundnut oil further improved by Rs 10 per ten kg, while RBD palm oil fell by Rs 4 per ten kg on poor offtake by stockists.

In de-oiled cakes, except undec cottonseed all prices remained unchanged on scattered buying support by dealers.

Undec cottonseed fell by Rs 400 per metric tonne (PMT) on persistent offloading by stockists, traders added.
