Gangster nabbed in Bengal
Uttarpara, Oct 23 (UNI) Hubba Shyamal, a notorious gangster against whom several murder cases have been pending, was today arrested along with his aide near Makla railway crossing under Uttarpara Police Station in West Bengal.
SDPO (Srirampur) Ajay Thakur said Shyamal Das, alias Hubba, was arrested along with Laldeo Choudhury, aka Sarala, and they operated in the areas comprising Uttarpara, Srirampore, Konnagar, Rishra and Hind Motors under Hooghly district as well as Howrah's industrial belt, including Bali.
Altogether 20 cases were registered against Hubba in different police stations and was a resident of Dharmadanga under Konnagar.
'' Majority of his cases were in connection with murder,'' he added.
''Earlier, Hubba was nabbed by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) two years ago. However, he obtained bail after six months and absconded. Police had to file another arrest warrant since he failed to attend the court. A CID team will be interrogating Hubba,'' the SDPO informed.
