Tiruchirapalli, Oct 23: Popular Film Actor and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) founder Sarath Kumar would undertake a 150-day tour of Tamil Nadu after the party's state conference at Chennai, some time early next year, AISMK General Secretary Karu Nagaajan said.
Addressing a press conference here last night, he said during the tour, Mr Sarath kumar would hear the grievances of the people and receive petitions from the public.
He would send the petitions to the respective department officials for suitable remedy.
Mr Sarath kumar was now holding discussions with office-bearers to finalise the list of candidates to contest all the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The party has already appealed to the Union and State Governments to upgrade the Dr K A P Viswanatham Government Medical College Hospital here to the level of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), New Delhi and impose the total prohibition in the State.
If necessary, the party will launch a state-wide stir to achieve these demands, he added.
Party State Organising Secretary Panneerselvam said most of the party office-bearers expressed desire for the AISMK to go it alone in the ensuing elections.
However, an appropriate decision would be taken at the appropriate time by Mr Sarath kumar.
