Uproar in LS, RJD demands action stern action against Raj
New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned twice today, this time till 1430 hrs, with RJD members demanding "severe action" against Raj Thackeray and his Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for attacks against north Indians in Mumbai.
As a soon as House re-assembled at 1400 hrs after the first adjournment, the RJD members were again on their feet, raising slogans against MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
Members from Kerala, mainly the CPI-M and CPI, were also on their feet demanding restoration of the cut in foodgrains from the Central pool for the state.
They then trooped into the well, raising slogan, "we want justice." Amid the uproar, papers were laid on the table, and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee laid a statement on Sri Lanka.
As pandemonium continued for 15 minutes, Deputy Speaker Charnjit Singh Atwal, who was in the chair, adjourned the House till 1430 hrs.
