Two killed in west Sikkim accident
Gangtok, Oct 22 (UNI) Two youths died in an accident in West Sikkim when their vehicle fell off the road near Sagbari on the Nayabazaar-Legship road in the wee hours of the morning today.
There were six persons ,mostly teenagers and four of them students, of various schools between the age group of 14 to 20. They belonged to Legship in west Sikkim and were supposedly going for a football practice at a playground located at Sagbari when the fatal accident took place.
The deceased have been identified as Bikash Rai (20) and Anup Subba (19).
The cause of the accident is being ascertained.Police suspect that visibility could be low since it was early in the morning. The vehicle fell about 400 feet below just above the banks of the Rangit river.
Four others Bishal Gurung (17), Rajesh Rai (14), Rakesh Tamang (18) and Bhim Sewa (17) were greviously injured and were referred to the Sir Thutob Namgyal memorial hospital here in the capital this morning soon after they were rescued. They are reported to have sustained multiple fractures.
Five tourists had been killed in a similar road accident near Gangtok on Monday.
