Sukhwinder Singh confident of JCT boys vs United SC

By Staff

Kolkata, Oct 22 (UNI) JCT coach Sukhwinder Singh today said his boys would put up a good show when they take on United SC at the fifth round of the ONGC's Indian league here tomorrow.

The millmen had surprised all when they thrashed reigning champion Dempo 2-1 in the opener, but lost to Mahindra United 0-1 before coming here.

Before that, JCT drew 0-0 with Vasco and beat Mohammedan Sporting by two goals against none.

Acknowledging lack of consistency of his side, Sukwinder Singh said this was not a new phenomenon in the national league. All teams are more or less equally good.

With seven points from four matches, JCT are expected to use all their first line up with inform Brazalian striker Eduardo D'Silva, who was not in the side due to injury at Ludhiana against Mahindra United.

United coach Subrata Bhattacharjee was not a happy man after his boys lost to Air India by a goal that left the local debutant with four points from four. United were facing crunch of players after half a dozen were out of practice due to injuries and suspension.

Two foreign recruits - Daniel and Muritala Ali - and two locals Gauranga Dutta and Subahshis Roy Choudhury are facing automatic suspension after beign received cards. Malsam Hmar and Sasthi Duley are also in the injury list.

United will get service of a new goalkeeper after Gopal Das was given clearance recently.
