Select cotton varieties fall
Mumbai, Oct 22 (UNI) Select cotton varieties eased today on lack of fresh demand from spinners and exporters, in view of discouraging advice from Gujarat, Punjab and southern regions, traders at the Cotton Association of India (CAI) said.
Cotton varieties like Bengal Desi RG and Bengal Desi SG slashed by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per candy respectively, following bearish trend at the producing centres. Y-1 and Punjab RG varieties also slipped by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per candy respectively, on low buying support.
Following are the spot cotton rates per candy (335.62 kg) in Rupees: Bengal Desi RG: 23,800, Bengal Desi SG: 24,200, V-797: 18,900, Karnataka Jayadhar: 27,000, Y-1: 22,100, Punjab J-34 (SG): 22,000, Punjab J-34 (RG): 22,700 H-4: 22,400, S-6-A 22,600 Bynny Brahma 23,000, MCU-5 25,000, DCH-32: 31,500.
