Jammu, Oct 22 (UNI) The wife of a police constable was thrashed by some miscreants over a land dispute in Katra town of the Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said here today.
Constable identified as Din Mohammed, resident of Moori, Katra, posted at the Court Police Katra lodged a complaint at the Katra Police Station alleging that his wife was beaten up by some miscreants when he was out on duty, sources said.
'' The constable in his complaint has alleged that Sakhter Singh, Kapil Dev Singh, Arjun Singh, Satya Devi, and Qatab Din, all residents of Moori, barged into his house and thrashed his wife Makhtoor Begum,'' sources told UNI.
The police, however, said two parties had an old dispute over a piece of land, which led to the scuffle.
Meanwhile, a case under FIR number 101 under sections 425 and 147 RPC has been registered at the Katra Police Station.
