He appealed to all peace loving citizens to condemn this act as an act against the people and culture of the state. He also expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, who lost their near and dear ones in the barbaric act.
The Governor visited various wards of J N Hospital at Porompat, RIMS Hospital, Lamphelpat and Shija Hospital at Langol, where 21 injured were under treatment.
He had close interaction with each of them, consoled them and wished them speedy recovery.
The Governor extended a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 for purchase of medicines for the injured.
The Zeliangrong Union(ZU) and Zeliangrong youth Front(ZYF) also condemned the powerful bomb blast.
They blamed the government for ''laxity'' of security as the blast took place in the vicinity of 2nd Manipur Rifles/Manipur Police commando complex and the Assam Rifles transit camp. Had the security forces been kept alerted, the incident would have not occurred in such a crowded area.
