Lok Sabha adjourned till 1400 hours amid uproar

New Delhi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1400 hours amid acrimonious scenes with RJD members and some opposition party members trooping into the well of the House shouting slogans and refusing to go back to their seats.

Speaker Somnath Chatterjee also announced expulsion of Mr Abdulla Kutty (CPI-M) from the House for the day for displaying a paper demanding rice for Kerala, defying the order of the Chair.

Earlier in the day, as soon as the house assembled, the RJD Members demanded action against those attacking "outsiders" in Maharashtra.

They were also displaying some newspapers and other papers in support of their demand. The members later entered the well of the house and kept raising slogans.

MPs from Kerala, mainly the CPI-M and CPI, were also on their feet demanding restoration of the cut in food grains from the Central pool for the state. They wre also demanding more supply of electricity for the State from the Central pool.

They also entered the well of the house in support of their demand. At this point the Speaker warned Mr Abdulla Kutty against displaying the paper and as the member refused to comply with the direction, he was asked to remove himself from the House for the day.

Later, the Speaker issued a similar warning to Mr Ram Kripal Yadav (RJD) that if he again displays any paper, he too will be expelled for the day.

The Speaker said he would be forced to expel all the agitating members defying the direction of the Chair.

Meanwhile, the BJP members led by Shah Nawaz Hussian, stated that they wanted to raise some important issues. Some other members, led by Ms Kiran Maheshwari, also from BJP, along with some others, walked out from the house on some protest.
