Lalu appeals for calm in Bihar
Patna, Oct 22 (UNI) Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today expressed serious concern at the students vandalism in several railway stations in Bihar and appealed to them for not causing any damage to the railway property any more.
A statement, issued here by the ECR quoting Mr Prasad, said such vandalism would cause damage not only to the national property, but also to the property of the state.
'' By damaging railway property you are only causing damage and inconvenieces to your own people, '' the Railway Minister said.
Detailing his decision to hold Railway Board examinations of Maharashtra in other states in future, he also announced an exgratia of Rs two lakh to the next of kin of Pawan Kumar, who was reportedly killed during the MNS activists attacks on Bihari students in Mumbai on Sunday last.
He also announced to provide job in the Indian railway to one of the able members of the deceased family.
