Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 22: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday, Oct 22 congratulated the scientists on the successful launch of India's first unmanned spacecraft to moon, Chandrayaan-I and said it was a 'historical moment.' Briefing reporters after a Cabinet meeting, he said it was a great moment for the country.

''This achievement is really a happy moment and a pride for all the people of this country,'' he said.

''Kerala congratulates the entire team of scientists who worked day and night for the success of the moon mission, that will hoist national flag in the moon,'' he said.

It was a great moment of happiness to see that the PSLV-C11 developed at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram had been used for placing Chandrayaan-1 in the orbit, he said.
