IIT-A signs MoU with Moscow's RosNOU

Allahabad, Oct 22 (UNI) Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Russia's New University (RosNOU), Moscow to intensify mutual academic and scientific cooperation.

IIIT-A Director Dr M D Tiwari, yesterday said the MoU was a major step that lays down a renewable five-year-term of extensive scientific and research partnership and cooperation between the two universities.

Dr Tiwari signed the MoU with the Rector of RosNOU, Prof Vladmir A Zernov on October 15.

Both the universities entered into an MoU following the visit of an IIIT-A delegation comprising of Abhishek Vaish, Pritish Bhardwaj and Dr Shishu Verma to RosNOU two weeks ago. The meeting was concluded by framework agreement on cooperation between the two universities.

According to the memorandum, Dr Tiwari said both universities will initiate cooperative activities in areas of mutual interest for the purpose of exchanging faculty, scholars, and students meant for lecturing advanced studies and research.

It will also pave way for bilateral coordination in terms of thesis, teaching materials, joint symposia, workshops and conferences. The MOU instigates the exchange of visits by members of the faculties of the two institutions, and the exchange of know-how and R &D projects towards conferment.

The main objectives of the agreement are joint research, disclosure and capacity development of young professionals in areas such as database management, computer networks, information security, management in tourism, financial management and others.

''Russian New University maintains strong ties with many foreign universities, but IIIT among our partners, holds a special place'', said Mr Vladimir Zernov.
