HC directs survey of land sold by HMT

Kochi, Oct 22 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the District Survey Superintendent to survey the land sold by HMT to Blue Star Realtors.

A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice H L Dattu and Justice K M Joseph directed to survey the land measuring about 226.53 acres, which includes 100 acres of land sold by HMT to Blue Star Realtors at Thrikkakara North Village in Ernakulam District.

The direction was issued while considering an interim application filed by a public interest litigant Joy Kaidarath alleging the land sold was involved in a Land Ceiling case.

The court directed the State to file the survey report before November 7. It also observed the willing parties could participate in the proceedings but shall not make any hindrance or obstacles in the survey process.

However, the State Government had filed an affidavit, maintaining the land sold by HMT was not excess.
