AP: ACB arrests Govt official for taking bribe
Hyderabad, Oct 22: ACB sleuths arrested Junior Assistant/Bill Collector in Balajinagar Ward Office under GHMC on Tuesday, Oct 21 evening for accepting Rs 2,000 as a bribe from a complainant for doing an official favour. According to a press release issued here today, T N Venkatesh was caught red-handed at his office while taking the bribe. The tainted amount was recovered from him and he would be produced before Special Court, Hyderabad, the release said.
In another case, ACB officials arrested a Junior Accounts Officer in office of the Divisional Engineer (Operation), APCPDC Limited in Anantapur District for accepting Rs 2,000 as a bribe from a complainant, an APCPDCL Contractor, for handing over a cheque of Rs 23,562 pertaining to a contract.
Balija Murthy was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The tainted amount was recovered from him and he would be produced before the Special Court, Hyderabad, the release added.
Both the cases were under investigation, the release said.
